NIEA LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT The 11th Annual NIEA Legislative Summit met from February 11 -13, 2008, in Washington, DC at the Holiday Inn Capitol and Capitol Hill. NIEA kicked off the summit on Monday morning, February 11th with the opening General Assembly meeting at the Holiday Inn Capitol. NIEA President Gilbert Addresses the Nation at the National Press Club. 2008 Legislative Summit. Discussions will continue on Tuesday and conclude at 4pm on Wednesday. Attendees will receive updates from key decision makers on legislation for Indian education, as well as other education-related legislation that impacts educators of Native students.
