Thank you for being a part of NIEA!

Dear NIEA Member,

On behalf of the National Indian Education Association Board of Directors, and staff of the Association, we thank you, our members, for attending our 40th Annual Convention “Shaping our Future Wisdom-keepers”, held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This year, the Convention attracted almost two thousand attendees from all over the United States and Canada! You are the reason why our conventions are so successful! We hope that you share the information learned at the 160+ workshops, the 150+ exhibitors, the various forums, the youth and college events, and general assemblies, with your communities to positively impact the education of Native students. Also,

Each year we seek your views from the previous year in an effort to ensure that your future experiences with prove to be more beneficial. To improve the quality of service of our events, we encourage you to take a moment to give a little helpful feedback on your 2009 Convention experience (and don’t forget to include how may steps you took with your red pedometers!)

We are gearing up for our 2010 Convention, which is going to be held in San Diego, California at the Town and Country Resort. Our website is continually updated with 2009 Convention highlights and 2010 Convention details, so please check back periodically.

In addition to the Convention information, information on legislative activity, employment opportunities, scholarships, the latest education news, and networking, can all be found on our website, www.niea.org! And if you have information to share regarding your communities’ education successes or opportunities, please feel free to contact NIEA.

As always, we appreciate your support and value your continued participation and input!

Respectfully,

Patricia L. Whitefoot (Yakama/Dine’)
