THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Indian Education Association shall submit this resolution to Congress and the Secretaries of the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Interior for consideration of Impact Aid Program funding for tribally controlled schools to increase funding parity with public schools located on and near tribal lands within 90-days of the passage of this resolutions by the members of NIEA or before the end of the calendar year, 2021; and

Read MoreTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the National Indian Education Association rejects any legislation or actions that limit the teaching of full and accurate history of the United States, especially as it relates to American Indian, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians.
Read MoreTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the NIEA will develop a policy template and related professional development materials to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of Native students by protecting expressions of cultural identity, such as the wearing of eagle feathers at graduation and having long hair, in order to foster a learning environment that enhances the safety and educational development of all students while honoring the cultural customs of Natives and all other protected classes; and
